Obituary for William Edward Morvant Sr.

Graveside services for Ed Morvant, 78, of Chandler, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Morvant passed away September 20, 2021 in Tyler.

William Edward Morvant, Sr. was born September 8, 1943 in Port Arthur, the son of Randolph N. Morvant and Emma (Robinson) Morvant. He graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1962 and enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served from April 24, 1963 to April 21, 1967. Ed worked as a project manager with Electronic Data Systems in Dallas for over 20 years before his retirement. Upon retirement, he devoted much of his time to volunteering for veterans in a broad range of services.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Emma Jean Morvant and brother-in-law, Colonel Clark Holloway.

Survivors include wife, Catherine Morvant of Chandler; children, William Morvant, Jr. and wife Virginia of Salado, Jon Morvant and wife Kiersten of Gig Harbor, Washington, Craig Morvant and wife Marcey of Fort Riley, Kansas; siblings, Esther Holloway, Randolph Morvant, Jr., David Morvant, George Morvant; grandchildren, Christopher Morvant and wife Tianna, Jacqueline Ferguson and husband Drew, Alex Morvant, Vivian Morvant, Elizabeth Bruder, Lucas Morvant, Samuel Morvant, Jacqueline Morvant, Justin Morvant, Benjamin Morvant, Jacob Morvant, Oliver Morvant and great grandchildren, Myles Ferguson and Wes Ferguson.

A visitation will be held Monday, September 27, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
