Obituary for William "Bill" Beaird

Memorial services for William “Bill” Beaird, 75, of Tyler, are scheduled for 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Erick Graham officiating.

Mr. Beaird passed away September 9, 2021 in Tyler, surrounded by his loving family.

William Barron Beaird was born November 28, 1945 in Tyler, Gladys (Scott) Beaird. He was a graduate of John Tyler High School, Class of 1964, and a graduate of Tyler Junior College. Bill served in the United States Army along with his brothers and sisters during the Vietnam War. He served on the 1st Calvary Division, 227th Aviation Regiment and as a Military Policeman. All service men and women would become family to him as well as to his family. After his military service, he worked at Kelly Springfield in Tyler, where he retired. He then went on to be elected as Smith County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, where he served many years. Judge Beaird was a very fair, kind and decent man who believed in justice, standing up for those who had no voice and protecting and serving his community. He was an amazing son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. To his family, he was the center of their world, and it was an honor to be in his presence. When you met him, you instantly knew he was the kind of person you wanted in your corner. He picked up where others left off and always completed his mission- whether it was holding his brothers and sisters in war, or caring for his mom, wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren or anyone else in need. Even if you couldn’t see him, you always knew he was there by the stature he instilled in you by him. The gifts he gave were many and the love and sternness were immeasurable. Bill was the best of everything all in one and his family and friends are forever grateful that he blessed everyone he met in some way.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys (Scott) Beaird; paternal grandparents, Pete and Lena Beaird and maternal grandparents, William Alexander and Martha (Tarrant) Scott.

Survivors include Darla (McMinn) Beaird- wife; Tara and Todd Fleischer- daughter and son in-law; Buddy Beaird and Rosa Trejo- son and partner; Barron and Brooke (Brinlee and Braxton) Wedgeworth- grandson and family; Lane and Adrianna (Klaira) Daniel- grandson and family.
