Obituary for Thomas Eddie Hackler
Funeral services for Thomas Hackler, 86, of Chandler, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2022, at West Lake Baptist Church with Bro. Lee Evans officiating. Interment is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at Cathedral in the Pines Memorial Gardens under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Hackler went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 24, 2022, in Tyler.
Thomas Eddie Hackler was born May 21, 1936, in Pine, Texas, the son of Eddie Columbus Hackler and Ovie Bell (Duncan) Hackler. He was a member of West Lake Baptist Church of Chandler, Texas. Thomas graduated from Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, Texas. He and Elizabeth Ann Barnard were married on August 23, 1957, at South Union Missionary Baptist Church of Daingerfield, Texas. Tom began working for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Pittsburg after high school. He and Ann moved to Tyler in 1958, where he worked for National Homes at Owentown and the Texas Highway Department before beginning at The Kelly Springfield Tire Company in Tyler, Texas, where he worked for 36 years before retiring.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Ovie Hackler; sisters, Mary Jean Parker, Katherine Hackler, Mable Green, and Peggy Florey.
Thomas is survived by Ann, his wife of 65 years, and children: Pheba and Jace Watson of Chandler, Texas, Jill and Tim Peay of Big Sandy, Texas, and Kyle and Bernie Hackler of Aubrey, Texas. Grandchildren are Randy and Caylin Watson of Chandler, Texas, Ruben and Sarah Watson of Chandler, Texas, Evan Hackler, Caroline Hackler, and Samantha Hackler, all of Aubrey, Texas; and three great-grandchildren: Rosalie Watson, Joe Watson, and Zoey Watson, all of Chandler, Texas.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 4-6:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
