Mrs. Lipscomb passed away September 16, 2020 in Tyler.

Sylvia Sue (Beard) Lipscomb was born June 1, 1940 in Jacksonville, the daughter of John Woodrow Beard and Rachel Elizabeth Dossett. Previously from Garland, she spent over 40 years working with State Farm in the North Dallas area as a secretary and later a claims adjuster. While in Garland, she and her husband Charles were members of the Axe Memorial United Methodist Church and participated in the Pathfinders Sunday School Class. Sue and her husband loved square dancing during their free time and even participated in a group known as the Pard Twirlers while living in Garland. Every summer they would travel to Kirkwood Lodge at Lake of the Ozarks for a weeklong square-dancing workshop. She also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and other games with her family and friends. Sue will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Charles Lipscomb of Chandler; daughters, Lori Andreason and husband Don of Chandler, Ami Patterson and husband Robby of Chandler; brother, Frank Beard and wife Debbie of Richmond; grandchildren, Tyler Andreason and wife Kasey, Taylor Hall and husband Andrew, Hayden Andreason and wife Shelby, Lyric Patterson; great grandchildren, Harrison Hall, Walker Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Andreason, Andrew Hall, Hayden Andreason, Don Andreason, Robby Patterson Trent West, Phil Freeman and Darryl Lipscomb.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2020 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Chandler First United Methodist Church prior to the service. Due to health and safety concerns, the family will not be present for the visitation portion of the service.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Sue and Charles’ loving caregivers who have devoted their time and sincere compassion.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
