Obituary for Rick Wright
Funeral services for Rick Wright, 77, of Chandler, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Chandler Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Wright passed away August 26, 2021 in Chandler.
Richard Steven Wright was born October 4, 1943 in Lamesa, Texas, the son of Clifford E. Wright and Martha Hazel (Camp) Wright. He attended Paschal High School in Fort Worth and graduated from Denton High School. Rick began his career as a pipefitter with Dow Chemical Company in Lake Jackson for 10 years before transitioning to Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Tyler where he retired after 27 years. He enjoyed dancing, traveling and having cookouts with family and friends. Rick was outgoing, joyful and always caring of others.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include wife, Rosie Wright of Chandler; sons, Michael Wright and wife Julie of Sugar Land, Paul Payne and wife Lori of Chandler, Peter Wright and wife Merilee of Dallas, Gary Payne and wife Chelsea of Mabank; sister, Susan Woerly and husband John of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Erica Wright, Ben Wright, Justin Payne and wife Jordan, Hunter Payne and wife Marissa, Olivia Wright, Colton Payne, Kyle Payne and wife Ashley, Peyton Welk; great grandchildren, Maddox Payne, Mila Payne and Lincoln Payne as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
