Obituary for Joyce Burt
Graveside services for Joyce Burt, 98, formerly of Chandler, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2021 at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Bro. Bob Logan officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Burt passed away February 9, 2021 in Lewisville.
Rhoena Joyce Burt was born July 31, 1922 in Itasca, Texas, the daughter of Raymond London and Manie May (Clark) London. She was a member of the Leagueville Baptist Church of Murchison and a 50-year member of The Order of the Eastern Star in Victoria. Joyce enjoyed going fishing and camping with her late husband of 64 years, Redin Burt, Jr. She also enjoyed crocheting, bingo and word search puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, May London, William London, Lillian Clack, Marie Canada, Lucille Cummings, Melvin London, Rufus London; nieces and nephews, Marilyn Westbrook, Noble Cummings, Daryl Cummings and Jean Isbell.
Survivors include her nieces, Debra Dearing and husband Craig of Lewisville, Benita Corley and husband Roger of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Beverly Orr and husband Ronald of Hillsboro, Barbara Talkington and husband Ron of Durango, Colorado, Rebecca Hubbard and husband Chris of Granbury and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leagueville Baptist Church, 12081 FM 317, Murchison, Texas 75778.
A visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 from 9-11:00 a.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
