Obituary for Peggy Joe Blacketer (Shoulders)
Peggy Blacketer, 91, of Tyler, passed away January 10, 2021 in Tyler. A private graveside service will be held at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home with a memorial celebration to be announced at a later date.
Peggy Joe (Shoulders) Blacketer was born May 30, 1929 in Denton, the daughter of Bratton Fernando Shoulders and Laura Lorina (Gray) Shoulders. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and remained devoted to studying the bible throughout her life. Peggy enjoyed being with friends and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert A. Blacketer and sisters, Alice Marie Deaton and Elizabeth Ann Shoulders.
Survivors include children, Patricia Ann Childers and husband Ron of Corsicana, Don Blacketer and wife Cindy of Flint, Eddie Blacketer and wife Jo Ann of Lewisville, Brad Blacketer and wife Tracy of Hempstead; grandchildren, Rob Golden and wife Leslie, Angie Childers, Julie Douglas and husband Robert, Jordan Blacketer and wife Sara, Allen Blacketer and wife Erica, Kevin Blacketer and wife Jody, Bailey Blacketer, Morgan Blacketer and 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Coalition or Green Acres Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
