Obituary for Max John Ragatz

Max John Ragatz, age 55 of Chandler, TX, passed from this life into the open arms of his Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital.

Max was born June 3, 1963 in Kent, Ohio and grew up in North Branch, MI. Upon completing high school, Max enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country while being stationed in Arizona. In 1992, Max married Christine Guelette and they had three children whom Max greatly adored and loved.

In 2012, Max relocated to Texas to be near his children after a divorce. After relocating, he met the love of his life and married Angelia (Angie) M. Rovell on June 8, 2013. Max loved God and was always sharing God’s love with all those around him. He was proceeded in death by his father, Dorland Ragatz.

Max is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Angie; his three children, Kaitlynn and boyfriend Daniel of Tyler, TX; Curtis and wife Kelsea, and Kathryn – all of Winnsboro; stepson, Matthew Landrum and wife Kiersten of York, PA; mother, Ann Ragatz of Venice, FL; sisters Donna Korzun and husband Leo, Darlene Reckker and husband Leo, Marlene Schank and husband, Leonard, Valadene Bader and husband, Tom – all of North Branch, MI; sister Sharladene Senko of Venice, FL; brother Duane Ragatz of North Branch, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses of the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital ER and Cath Lab for all their awesome work and care of Max in his final hours. Also, special thanks to Dr. Brandon Crim, Ken Stegall, P.A., Fresenius Athens and the various other medical professionals that have taken care of Max through the past 5 years. Your care went well above Max’s physical needs. You have brought comfort to both him and his wife through some very hard times and for that we are truly grateful and believe God will greatly reward you.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service to honor Max’s life at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 3:16 Church in Athens, TX.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
