Obituary for Linda Jane York (Wimbish)
Graveside services for Linda York, 77, of Brownsboro, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Edom Cemetery with Bro. Danny Bristow officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. York passed away on March 3, 2022, in Dallas.
Linda Jane (Wimbish) York was born July 15, 1944, in Tyler, the daughter of Rufus Grady Wimbish and Evelyn Inez (Robison) Wimbish. She graduated with a nursing degree from Tyler Junior College and worked in critical care for East Texas Medical Center for more than 20 years before retiring. During her free time, she enjoyed reading, tending flowers, bowling, and completing puzzles and coloring pages. Linda will be remembered as smart, self-motivating, and loved her family deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwayne York, and brother, Rufus L. Wimbish.
Survivors include children, Troy York and wife Lisa of Brownsboro, DeeAnna Allison and husband David of Tyler; siblings, Nelda Dunaway of Brownsboro, Neta Matheson of Quitman, Doyle Wimbish of Brownsboro; grandchildren, Glenda Anderson and husband Shane of Chandler, Samantha Stone, and husband Chad of Edom, Shelby Olson and husband Corey of Whitehouse, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
