Obituary for Sue Rozell

Funeral services for Lilly Rozell, 83, of Chandler, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2021 at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Weldon Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Malakoff City Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rozell passed away December 11, 2021 in Tyler.

Lilly Sue (White) Rozell was born July 2, 1938 in Nevada, Texas, the daughter of Ross Hancel White and Maybel (Cummings) White. She graduated from Prosper High School in 1957 and worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Dallas. Sue married Thomas Jefferson “T.J.” Rozell on March 7, 1958 and together they had two children- Donna and Thomas Jefferson “Tom”, Jr. She was a homemaker for many years while she and her husband were caretakers of the Murchison and Smith Ranches. Sue’s joy came from those that called her “Nana”- her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They each share wonderful memories of learning to cook, being read to and going shopping with their grandmother. She will be remembered by those that knew and loved her as gentle, loving and compassionate.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, T.J. Rozell, Sr.; son, Thomas “Tom” Rozell, Jr.; son-in-law, Gary Smith; sisters, Frances Rhodes, Ernestine Semple, Peggy McDonald and brothers, Hancel White and Haskell White.

Survivors include daughter, Donna (Rozell) Smith of Chandler; sister, Patsy Cain and spouse Tim of New Boston; grandchildren, Kristen Plazek and spouse Ed of Montgomery, Kaitlyn Kading and spouse Mady of Chandler, Thomas “Trey” Rozell, III of Chicago, Illiniois; great grandchildren, Rylee Taylor, Maddox Plazek, Adison Plazek, Keighton Plazek, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
