Graveside services for Kevin Calvert, 66, of Chandler, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2021 at Chandler Memorial Cemetery with Ed Stover officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Calvert passed away October 13, 2021 in Tyler.
Kevin Lee Calvert was born December 6, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Boyd Lee Calvert and Ima Lee (Moore) Calvert. He graduated from Evant High School in 1973 and immediately went to work for TP&L of Dallas building underground electrical infrastructure throughout the East Texas area. Kevin moved up to welding aluminum on substations before finally landing in the I.T. department where he built software until present day with the company H.C.L. During his free time, he was a Star Wars and Star Trek enthusiast and enjoyed knife making, working on computers and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jackqueline Jones.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Jayne Calvert of Chandler; children, Kendra Brown and husband Clyde of Rusk, Jennifer Calvert of Shreveport, Jonathan Calvert of Chandler, Crystal Cherry and husband Bobby of Athens, Casey Jones of Chandler; sister, Stephanie Hightower of Athens; grandchildren, Quentin Fancher, Briana Brown, Hunter Fancher, Camron Calvert, Micah Calvert, Nathan Calvert, Elijah Calvert, Elizabeth Jaynes; great grandchildren, Dalynn Fancher, Everly Brown and brother and sisters-in-law, Jay and Beverly Roberts and Patty Roberts.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 18, 2021 from 2-3:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Cemetery prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cherokee Home for Children, P.O. Box 295, Cherokee, Texas 76832.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
