A memorial graveside for Judy Claiborne Porter, 75, of Brownsboro, is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2023, at Echols Cemetery on Jennings Mountain, with Pastor Mickey Ellis officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Porter passed away on January 14, 2023, in Tyler.
Judy Gaye (Parker) Porter was born on October 14, 1947, in Safford, Arizona, the daughter of William Moss Parker and Dovie Elizabeth (Adair) Parker. She grew up attending the First Assembly of God in Chandler and graduated from Van High School in 1966. Judy obtained her associate's degree from Tyler Junior College and began a career in the medical field. She worked as an x-ray technician with Medical Center Hospital (previously ETMC and now UT Health Tyler) for 25 years, then an additional ten years as an MRI technician with the Texas Spine and Joint Hospital before her retirement in 2016. Judy's favorite colors were red, white, and blue; she was patriotic and loved her country. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers, camping, shopping, and antiquing. She will be remembered by those who loved her as energetic, family-oriented, generous to a fault, and the epitome of unconditional love.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Eric “Chris” Claiborne; and her siblings, Garnell Richards, Randy Parker, David Parker, Richard Parker, Molly Morris, and Danny Parker.
Survivors include her husband, Milton Porter of Brownsboro; children, Allison Perry and husband Billy of Chandler, Julie Osborne and husband Brad of Chandler, Katherine Green and husband Matt of Whitehouse, Kayla Nash and husband Greg of Brownsboro; brother, Larry Parker and wife Rhonda of Tyler; grandchildren, Jordan Perry and wife Traci, Macy Waggoner and husband Clayton, Sydney Osborne, Natalie Osborne, Gavin Green, Landon Green, Jaxon Nash, Beaux Nash; great-grandchildren, Jordan Christian Perry, Annabelle Perry, Gatlynn Waggoner, Grayson Waggoner, Madi Claire Waggoner, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 3-5:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
