Obituary for Joyce Marie Benton (Tidwell)
Memorial services for Joyce Benton, 79, of Larue, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Evans officiating.
Mrs. Benton passed away January 18, 2022, in Larue.
Joyce Marie (Tidwell) Benton was born January 27, 1942, in Sweetwater, the daughter of Clyde Tidwell and Audie (Roberts) Tidwell. She graduated from Sweetwater High School and worked as a dental assistant in Corpus Christi from 1978 until 1982. Joyce and her husband traveled all over the United States selling jewelry at flea markets, fairs, and festivals. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who never met a stranger and will be missed by all those left to cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chuck Benton; daughter, Belinda Benton and brother, Raymond Tidwell.
Survivors include son, C.W. Benton and wife Libby of Larue; sister, Clara Lanphier and husband Renne of Manvel; grandchildren, Pauline Hattenbach, Janelle Lloyd and husband Jonathan, William Benton, Cory Benton, Gracie Benton and great grandchildren, Artemis Lloyd and Tristen Lloyd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
