Joe Jewell Baugh was born July 10, 1935, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Jewel Herman Baugh and Evelyn (Simmons) Baugh. He met and married Joanna Ruth Stanford, and together they welcomed three daughters, Debbie, Tina, and Michele. They were married for 64 years until Mrs. Baugh’s passing on May 27, 2016. Joe worked as a glazer in the glass industry, began his apprenticeship with Binswanger Glass Company, and later co-owning his own glass company with his brother, Teddy. He grew up around a family-owned pool hall, where he learned how to dance. Joe and Joanna were very talented and won numerous dance competitions- not the trophy kind, but the memory kind. The two retired and moved to a lakefront property on Lake Palestine in Chandler, where they lived the rest of their lives together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joanna (Stanford) Baugh, and brother, Teddy Baugh.

Survivors include daughters, Deborah Burgess of Forney, Tina Eagle and husband Roger of Huger, South Carolina, Michele Hairston and husband Larry of Forney; grandchildren, John Chauvin, Chad Hairston and wife Brenna, Jodi Hairston and fiancé Ryan Broome, Brig Burgess and wife Jenna; great-grandchildren, Addison Hairston, Caleb Burgess, Kade Hairston, Kami Hairston, Piper Burgess, Madelyn Young, and Aidan Johnson.
