Obituary for Jettie Lucile Hobbs (Knight)

Mrs. Jettie Lucile (Knight) Hobbs, born on June 28, 1928 in Athens, Texas, to the late Helen Lavonia Knight and the late James Knight, passed away at age 90 on January 24, 2019 in Plano, Texas. Mrs. Hobbs had a passion for travel, a sharp sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and cared deeply for her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Alton Hobbs; former wife of the late Clyde Crutchfield. Mrs. Hobbs attended Tyler Junior College and Corsicana State Orphans' Home for elementary school. After her children were grown, she worked for several years as a timekeeper at the Cotton Belt Railroad in Tyler, Texas. She volunteered at Mother Frances Hospital and was on the Board of Directors at Westside Volunteer Fire Department until 2016. She was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Ehlers. Mrs. Hobbs is survived by her son, Stephen Crutchfield; daughter, Linda Crutchfield; sisters, Barbara Abbott and Jimmie Hammett; grandchildren, Charlotte Crutchfield, Lisa Cooper, Charity Radcliffe, Kellie Brock, Shaunt Arevian, and Armen Arevian; great-grandchildren, Justin Henderson, Audry Yvon, Alexis Radcliffe, Madeline Radcliffe, Kaitlyn Radcliffe, Charles Arevian, Georgia Arevian, and Valentina Arevian; great-great-grandchildren, Ayden Yvon, Angel Yvon, Joziah Yvon, Kinsie Henderson, Raigan Henderson and Lane Holcomb. She also leaves behind her adored pet bird, Georgia.
A rosary to commemorate Mrs. Hobbs’ passing will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home in Chandler, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chandler, Texas
