Obituary for Jessie May Howell

Funeral services for Jessie May Howell, 95, formerly of Chandler, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Dominic Crescimanno officiating. Interment will follow at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Howell passed away March 28, 2021 in Mount Pleasant.

Jessie May (Renfro) Howell was born March 27, 1926 in Sherman, Texas, the daughter of Albert Lafayette Renfro and Pearl Leota (Thompson) Renfro. As a young woman, she attended the Chicago School of Nursing and upon completion worked as a nurse for one year. She then transitioned to Texas Instruments where she worked as a Supercat Operator for more than 30 years before retiring. May was a member of the West Lake Baptist Church and active in Sunday School and the church choir, where she went on many trips. She also enjoyed gardening, vacationing with family and was a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray P. Howell; son, Larry Ray Howell; brother, Lewis Renfro and great grandsons, Bailey Chandler Williams and Waylan McCarrell.

Survivors include daughter, Brenda Phillips and husband Larry of Naples; grandchildren, Wayne Phillips and wife Penny, ShareƩ Cornelius and husband Nathan, James Ray Phillips, Gina Phillips-Thompson and husband Tim, Jennifer Keaton and husband Clay; great grandchildren, Garrett, Parker, Will, Robyn, Cyle, Nicole, Amber, Dillon, Brittany, Brandy, Richard, Jeremiah, Benjamin, Tyler and great great grandchildren, Layla, Summer, Coty and Natalie.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 1-2:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home prior to the service.
