Obituary for Ed Hamlin

Ed Hamlin, 92, of Chandler, passed away January 22, 2022 in Chandler.

Hugh Edwin “Ed” Hamlin was born May 10, 1929 in Lewisville, Texas, the son of Hubert Thomas Hamlin and Evaie Lee (McCommas) Hamlin. He graduated from Lewisville High School in the 1940’s and spent 50 plus years working as a bricklayer. Ed was a Mason and during his free time enjoyed golfing, watching sports, playing dominoes and eating at his favorite restaurant- Cracker Barrel. He was always joyful and loved his family, especially his grandchildren who he was so proud of. His remarkable legacy as a husband, father and grandfather will live on in the lives of those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Hamlin and sister, Winnie Watson.

Survivors include wife, Johnnie Hamlin of Chandler; children, Tom Hamlin and wife Susan of Garland, Starla Harris of Lewisville; brother, Ray Hamlin of Grapevine, along with numerous grandchildren and a loving and supportive extended family.

A memorial graveside will be announced at a later date.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
