Obituary for Gloria V. "Virgie" Davis (Dodson)
Services for Virgie Davis, 87, of Chandler, will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Private burial will follow in the Chandler Memorial Cemetery.
Virgie died on January 20, 2019 at Hospice Homeplace Tyler. She was born on February 25, 1931 in Lewisville, Arkansas to the late Euell “Eubie” Clifton and Lula Mae Beck Dodson.
Virgie moved to Chandler in 1985, prior to that she and her family lived in Carrollton. She attended the Church of Christ.
She was lovingly referred to as “Granny” by children everywhere, was beloved by all and never met a stranger.
Virgie was preceded in death by her son, Dezi; Grandson, Dane; three brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her 4 children, Cliff Davis of Dallas, Gloria Jenkins of Chandler, Craig Davis of Chandler and Ron Davis of Mesquite; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Family will host friends and relatives for dessert and coffee after the service at the Westwood Beach Community Center.
