Obituary for Bobby Murphree
A visitation for Bobby Murphree, 92, of Chandler, is scheduled for Monday, April 12, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest during a private ceremony at Rock Hill Cemetery with Bro. Danny Bristow officiating.
Mr. Murphree passed away April 9, 2021 in Chandler.
George Robert “Bobby” Murphree was born October 26, 1928 in Noonday, Texas, the son of George Murphree and Addy Orene (Boyd) Murphree. He spent a lifetime as an entrepreneur- installing septic systems, repairing small engines and doing various dirt work; but his true passion was drag racing and motorcycle racing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beverley Murphree; son, Rafe Hargett and brother, Duane Murphree.
Survivors include his loving grandchildren, Robert Brown and wife Abby of Tyler, Bradley Francis of Chandler, Elizabeth Francis of Chandler and great grandchildren, Landon Chaney and Toby Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
