Obituary for George Travis Lemmert

Memorial services for George Lemmert, 51, of Ben Wheeler, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church of Tyler with Rev. Richard Luna officiating.

Mr. Lemmert passed away August 22, 2021 in Ben Wheeler.

George Travis Lemmert was born December 4, 1969 in Aurora, Colorado, the son of George Carl Lemmert and Janet Sue (Voit) Lemmert. He graduated from John Tyler High School in 1988 and was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church. George worked in the oil field during his early years of adulthood before becoming a full-time carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on various projects during his free time. George loved his children and grandchildren, who called him Pa, and will be remembered as happy, friendly and loving to all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Lemmert; paternal and maternal grandparents as well as one uncle.

Survivors include father, George C. Lemmert of Chandler; children, Brittany Hall and husband John of Lindale, Travis Lemmert of Ben Wheeler, Drew Lemmert of Frankston; brother, Clay Lemmert and wife Kelsey of Brownsboro; grandchildren, Brody Bobo, Bella Hall, Addilyn Hall and Gentry Lemmert.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
