Obituary for Nell Cooper

Funeral services for Nell Cooper, 76, formerly of Chandler, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. David McGee officiating. Interment will follow at Chandler Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cooper passed away April 24, 2021 in Longview.

Eva Nell (Weeks) Cooper was born September 30, 1944 in Boyle, Mississippi, the daughter of Buster Vernon Weeks and Eva May (Walpole) Crumb. She previously worked for Kidd Jones and served as a waitress for more than 20 years at once Chandler area restaurants- Glazes, Rippy’s and Peepaw’s. During her younger years, she enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband. Nell enjoyed word search puzzles, cooking for her family and watching her ‘Honey’, Blake Shelton on The Voice. She will be remembered as a loving, strong-willed woman who loved her children and grandchildren wholeheartedly.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Allen Cooper, Sr.; great-great grandson, Bentley Wise and twelve brothers and sisters.

Survivors include children, Phyllis Passmore and husband Dave of Gladewater, Charles “Coop” Cooper, Jr. and wife Janie of Whitehouse, John Cooper and wife Jessica of Chandler; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild on the way as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Coker, Corey Cooper, Evan Christian, Dylan Passmore, Peyton Passmore, Wesley Cooper and Macade Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Passmore, Jimmy Taylor, Ryan Ditson, Dee Evans, Mikey Cooper, Gabe Ditson and Sonny Chapman.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
