Obituary for Dorothy Dee Newsom (Akin)
Memorial service for Dorothy Dee Newsome, 86, of Chandler will be held Friday, October 4, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. at the Lake Palestine United Methodist Church.
Dorothy passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 in Chandler. She was born December 21, 1932 in Wellington to the late William Earl and Mildred Hattie Akin. She worked as an executive secretary until her retirement in 1991. She has lived in Chandler for 22 years and was a member of Lake Palestine United Methodist Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Dan, parents and four brothers.
She is survived by her son, Rusty Newsom and wife Cindy of Brownsboro; sister, Barbara Petree; granddaughter, Brittany Gilley and husband Larry, and grandson RJ Newsom and wife Megan.
