Obituary for Donald Jack Brown

Donald Brown, 74, of Chandler, passed away January 4, 2021 in Chandler.

Donald Jack Brown was born December 12, 1946 in Jacksonville, the son of Roy Edward Brown and Edna Pauline (Casper) Cleveland. He worked as a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Corrections, beginning his career at the Coffield Unit before transitioning to the Gurney Unit where he retired after more than 20 years. During his time at the Gurney Unit, he was responsible for the Park’s Squad Operations. During his free time, he loved hunting, camping and especially fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Wayne Brown.

Survivors include wife, Shirley Brown of Chandler; children, Dee Dee Nixon and husband William of Huntsville, Terri Searcy of Gladewater, David Brown of Chandler, Elizabeth Baker and husband Michael of Midland, Michelle Clay and husband Billy of Chandler, Carmen Brotherton of Chandler; 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

No services are scheduled.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
