Obituary for Dagmar Grubaugh (Storjohann)

Graveside services for Dagmar Grubaugh, 75, of Murchison, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Echols Cemetery on Jennings Mountain.

Mrs. Grubaugh passed away June 21, 2021 in Tyler.

Gertrud Dagmar (Storjohann) Grubaugh was born September 12, 1946 in Germany, the daughter of Hans-Werner Storjohann and Gertrud (Mueller) Storjohann. She was a member of Living for the Brand Cowboy Church in Athens where she was active in the Agape Knitters group. Dagmar was talented in knitting, machine knitting, spinning, weaving, soapmaking and jewelry making and was passionate about teaching her craft to others. She loved making new friends and enjoyed telling stories that would begin serious but end with a joke. Dagmar was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning and making jelly and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Grubaugh; daughter, Sandy Moreno and son-in-law, Pedro Moreno.

Survivors include daughter, Carole Essary and husband Don of Murchison; sister, Rosmarie Schaefer of Germany; grandson, Gerald Williams and wife Kimberly of Malakoff; nephew, Carsten Schaefer of Germany and great niece, Patricia Schaefer of Germany.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
