Services for Cody Hunter Strickland, 28, of Chandler, will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 11:00AM at Rock Hill Baptist Church in Chandler, with Brother Danny Bristow officiating. A private burial will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery.

Cody was born on March 13, 1994 in Austin, Texas, to Jeff and Shelly Strickland. Cody went to be with our Heavenly Father on August 25, 2022.

Cody grew up in Chandler, where he made many lifelong friends. He was an honor student and star athlete and someone that you simply couldn’t help but love. Cody saw the best in people and genuinely wanted things to be good for everyone.

Cody enjoyed sports, fishing with his dad, and hanging out with friends, but more than anything, Cody loved his wife and kids. They were his whole world, and he was so proud of them.

Those who knew him well, know that Cody himself was still a kid at heart. At family get togethers, you could find him playing catch, playing basketball and running circles around all of the kids in the family.

Cody was loved by many and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Lindsey Strickland, and two kids, Everleigh and Asher; his maternal grandmother and grandfather, Barbara and Lloyd Kidd, of Brownsboro; his father and step-mother, Jeff and Monica Strickland, of Chandler; his mother, Shelly Strickland, of Chandler; his sisters, Crystal Strickland of Tyler, Amber Wright of Kirksville, MO and Erin Strickland of Chandler; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and grandfather, Nancy and Danny Walker, and his maternal grandmother, Mary Ella Dowd.

Pallbearers will be Grayson Parker, Nick Jones, Caleb Shelton, Juan Oaxaca, Cameron Boyd, Jerry Ramos and Holman Kidd.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Brown, Josh Cooper, Dominick Wright, Matthew Torres, Alexis Duran, Shelby Rogers, Mikey Ramirez, Cody Shelton, Willie Miller, Danny Daniel and Elvin Mackey.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

In remembrance of Cody’s life, and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation in his honor, with notification sent to 21172 Lauderdale Lane, Chandler, TX 75758.

Go rest high beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. You’re safely home in the arms of Jesus.
