Charles Franklin Lipscomb was born on August 23, 1934, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Owen Martin Lipscomb and Wilna Lorene (Curry) Lipscomb. He graduated from Seagoville Senior High School in 1955 and served in the United States Army. Charles worked at the Safeway Warehouse in Garland for over 30 years and the Top 40 Ranch in Richmond for over ten years. While in Garland, Charles and his late wife Sue were members of the Axe Memorial United Methodist Church and participated in the Pathfinders Sunday School Class. After moving to Chandler, they became members of the First Methodist Church of Chandler and participated in the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class. Charles and Sue loved square dancing during their free time and even participated in a group known as the Pard Twirlers while living in Garland. Every summer, they would travel to Kirkwood Lodge at Lake of the Ozarks for a weeklong square-dancing workshop. He also enjoyed playing dominoes, tinkering in his shop, and beautifying his yard, especially with hand-painted birdhouses. Charles loved chocolate ice cream, spending time with his family and friends, and was the best example of a kind, compassionate, patient, and loving man.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sylvia Lipscomb; and his siblings, Tommy Lipscomb, Vernita Lasiter, Mildred Stark, and Edith Riley.

Survivors include his daughters, Lori Andreason and husband Don of Chandler and Ami Patterson and husband Robby of Chandler; his grandchildren, Tyler Andreason and wife Kasey, Taylor Hall and husband Andrew, Hayden Andreason and wife Shelby, Lyric Patterson and Cody Lattis; his great-grandchildren, Karley Andreason, Harrison Hall, Walker Hall, Sylvia Hall, and Langley Andreason; numerous nieces and nephews as well as loving caregivers.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 2-3:00 p.m. at the First Methodist Church of Chandler prior to the service.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Charles’ loving caregivers, who have devoted their time and sincere compassion.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
