Obituary for Bobby Joe Dike
Bobby Dike, 89, of Ben Wheeler, passed away on January 12, 2021 in Ben Wheeler. He will be laid to rest during a private ceremony at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Bobby Joe Dike was born July 14, 1931 in Ben Wheeler, Texas, the son of Curtis Dike and Pearl (Davidson) Dike. He served in the United States Navy from 1949 to 1953 as a 3rd class engineman and retired from La Gloria Refinery in Tyler after 16 years working as an electrician. He enjoyed woodworking, especially making furniture. Bobby loved his family and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dwayne Dike and step daughter, Joan Smith Maynard.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Dike of Ben Wheeler; children, Carol Whitehead of Spring, Kathy Holter of Tyler, Ricky Dike and wife Ellen of Grapevine’ step daughter, Aleta Janet Moore and husband Jimmy of Jacksonville; five siblings, Travis Dike and wife Cindy of Ben Wheeler, Eddie Dike and wife Norma of Ben Wheeler, Danny Dike and wife Dot of Lindale, Chris Dike and wife Pat of Ben Wheeler, Sue Dike of Ben Wheeler; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 from 1-5:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
