Obituary for Arthur Joseph Grady

Arthur J. (Joseph) Grady of Chandler, TX passed away the morning of March 11, 2019. He was born on June 7, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA to Arthur F. Grady and Mildred Keegan. Art is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sue (Mattie) Brooks. He leaves behind his dear daughters Marilyn Pasquarelli (Ed), Colleen Huber (Bob) and Kelley Wade (Ronnie). He will also be missed by his 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his three sons, Mark Arthur, Scott Allan, Scotti Morgan and his brother James. Art began his career at Bankers Lithographing in Pittsburgh, PA. He also worked for Jostens in Kansas producing diplomas, yearbooks and high school rings. He retired from JC Penney’s print department. He was always involved with printing, was an accomplished engraver, usually the manager in charge and was a fair and just boss. Over the years Art enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and playing games with friends. He and Sue were very much involved with their community center and church. After they built their house themselves, they turned it into a warm and loving home. Art was a sweet and caring man. He would offer a helping hand, his time and energy wherever and whenever it was needed. He had a quick wit, a stubborn streak and he liked to tease and loved it when you teased him back. Art’s family would like to thank all those who cared for him: the doctors, nurses, the hospital and especially Chandler Nursing Center staff, friends and church community who were always there when needed. When thinking of Art, he will be missed especially that twinkle in his eye. Viewing will be Friday, March 15, at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, March 16, at 10:30 a.m. at West Lake Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Chandler Memorial Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
