Obituary for Aaron Lee "Nub" Tompkins

Graveside services for Aaron "Nub" Tompkins, 63, of Brownsboro, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2023, at Echols Cemetery on Jennings Mountain with Bro. Danny Bristow officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Tompkins passed away on March 4, 2023, in Tyler.

Aaron Lee Tompkins was born on November 2, 1959, in Petersburg, Virginia, the son of James Wood Tompkins and Patsy Jane (Moon) Tompkins. He graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1978 and attended Henderson County Junior College, where he graduated with an associate's degree. Nub spent a career in the trucking and construction industry. He enjoyed listening to music, playing the drums, and socializing with family and friends in his free time. Nub was easygoing and always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Tompkins of Tyler; his mother, Patsy Tompkins of Brownsboro; his children, Blake Tompkins and wife Jessica of Springtown, James Tompkins and wife Lakena of Chandler, Allyson Chatman of Palestine, Michelle Oliver and husband Robert of Tyler, Stephanie Coats and husband Jody of Poynor; his sister, Stacy Berry and husband Roger of Brownsboro; and his grandchildren, Sovy Tompkins, Summer Tompkins, Xy'amani Powell, Macessa Key, Makayla Key, Izabella Oliver, Layla Coats, Dakota Coats, Elizabeth Coats, and Trinity Coats.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
